“Dr. Reinhard has been a tremendous component of VPI’s success for most of its existence,” says Dennis D. Drent, VPI’s president and CEO. “He is an original VPI shareholder, and he has been working with the company directly for more than 17 years. Although he is no longer going to be working with us full-time, we are very fortunate that we will have access to his professional expertise and company knowledge as a consultant.”

Dr. Reinhard, who began his career at VPI in 1989 as a member of the company’s Veterinary Review Committee, has been vice president and chief veterinary medical officer since 2006. A graduate of the University of California, Davis (UC Davis), Dr. Reinhard is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA).

Dr. McConnell, who has been with the company since 2004, has been working directly with Dr. Reinhard on VPI’s underwriting and new product activity over the past several months to ensure a smooth transition. Prior to joining VPI, she was with ALZA Pharmaceuticals and a veterinary management consulting group. McConnell was a practicing veterinarian for more than three years at a Delaware veterinary hospital. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, a Master of Business Administration from Purdue University and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis.
