Brea, CA. (October 25, 2006) --- Veterinary Pet Insurance Co. (VPI), the nation’s oldest and largest provider of pet health insurance, has named Lorin Young vice president of marketing and sales. Formerly the Company’s V.P. of administration, Young will now be responsible for overseeing all initiatives carried out by consumer marketing, veterinary marketing and corporate communications, in addition to leading VPI’s consumer and group sales departments.

“Lorin has gained a deep understanding of our business in a short period of time,” said Dennis P. Drent, president and CEO of VPI. “Coupling this knowledge with his diverse business background will enable him to help advance VPI to the next level in marketing and sales.”

Before his arrival to VPI in early 2006, Young was officer of strategy, planning and financial management for Nationwide Insurance. While at Nationwide, he was a member of the Corporate Brand Management Team, the Nationwide HR Executive Team, the Nationwide Services Company (NSC) Executive Leadership Team, and two corporate United Way steering committees.

Prior to joining Nationwide, Young worked for Advanced Elastomer Systems as industry manager, construction products, as well as PPG Industries, where he began as an account executive and graduated to product manager, high performance coatings.

Young is an alumnus of Brigham Young University (Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Organizational Strategy) and California State University, Fullerton (Bachelor of Arts in Marketing Management). He and his wife Allynne, along with their three children, reside in Orange County with their Pomeranian.
