VETERINARY PET INSURANCE ADDS NEW DIRECTOR TO BOARD

BREA, Calif. (March 30, 2006) — Veterinary Pet Insurance Co. (VPI), the nation’s oldest and largest provider of health insurance for pets, has appointed Terri L. Hill to its board of directors. With more than 23 years of diverse human resources and operations experience, Hill fills the vacancy left by former chairman Max Williamson, who recently retired from the board. A new chairman, Michael D. Miller, was named earlier this month.

“Serving on the board of directors for a company dedicated to preserving the health of pets is not only a noble endeavor, but a labor of love for me,” said Hill. “As a passionate pet lover with two Dalmatians, I’m genuinely excited to help guide the nation’s number one pet insurer to even further success.”

Hill’s current position at Nationwide Insurance Co. as executive vice president and chief administrative officer holds her responsible for human resources, corporate real estate and aviation for all Nationwide companies. She is also spearheading the launch of Nationwide’s new Health and Productivity line of business. Prior to joining Nationwide, Hill was senior vice president for human resources and operations at Scottsdale Insurance, overseeing human resources, facilities, operations, and communications. Before her tenure at Scottsdale, Hill served as vice president of human resources for American Express.

An alumnus of Arizona State University, Hill has a bachelor’s degree in organizational communications and a certificate of human resources from Cornell University.

Hill and her husband, Howard, enjoy photography, going to the movies, and hiking with their Dalmatians, Jazz and Cozmo,. She is an active member with the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA).
