BREA, CA. (Jan. 8, 2006) --- Veterinary Pet Insurance Co. (VPI), the nation’s oldest and largest provider of health insurance for pets, has announced the addition of Curtis Steinhoff as director of communications and strategy. In his new role, Steinhoff will oversee strategic communication initiatives for the company’s consumer, veterinary and corporate channels. He will be responsible for directing all public relations and corporate communications activities, including shareholder relations, while simultaneously directing the company’s veterinary marketing activities.

Formally executive director for VPI’s public relations agency, Riester~Robb, Steinhoff has held marketing and communications positions with several large companies, including Compaq and AT&T, as well as with small start-up companies and organizations. He received his MBA from the University of Phoenix and his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northern Arizona University.
